How to care for your jewellery
I want your Fux Jewels to live a long and happy life, so it's important that you do your best to take good care of them.
Don't let your jewellery come in contact with water, cosmetics, perfumes, cleaning chemicals or any other liquids. Your jewellery can oxidise or change in colour. Always wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth after wearing.
Some of the materials will naturally change colour over time, but that is part of dealing with natural materials like brass or wood.
Store your jewellery separate from other jewellery in a box or pouch. Don't store it in the bathroom or in direct sunlight.
Don't wear your jewellery when:
• doing sport, swimming
Wooden jewellery sometimes need oil or it could crack from being too dried out. Use some olive oil and put it on a small piece of soft cloth.
Sterling Silver can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.
Brass is a metal alloy made from a combination of zinc and copper. It can turn your skin green, this can happen if your jewelry comes in contact with water. Don't worry this is just the oxidation of the metal.
Your brass jewelry will change color with time and wear - this is completely normal.
It can be cleaned with an old tooth brush and tooth paste. Put a small amount on the soft toothbrush and gently brush your jewelry until the shine has returned. Rinse off and dry thoroughly.
Or you can use some fresh lemon juice, simply wipe off the juice with a wet cloth.
Plugs, Tunnels , Ear Weights & Hanger
They are intended to be worn in piercings that have already been stretched to the appropriate size and properly healed.
Before inserting your new jewellery, make sure your hands and piercing are cleaned.
Even though many of the Dangle Plugs, Ear Weights etc. you can buy are very attractive they simply are not designed for long term wear as there is a danger that the weight can tear your delicate ear tissue.
Earrings & Hoops
Most of the hoops have a bendable brass wire please bend it very gently to open.
